Abstract (EN)

Salinity, which is one of the most important problems limiting crop production in agricultural fields, besides its negative effects on growth and development processes in plants, also causes many disorders in plants at morphological, cellular, physiological and molecular levels. In this study, the effects of increment doses (0, 500, 1000 and 2000 mg.kg-1 NaCl) of salt applications on some growth and stress parameters of two different strawberry varieties ('Sweet Charlie', 'Camarosa') grown under greenhouse conditionof were investigated. As a result of the research, it has been revealed that the "Sweet Charlie" contained more antioxidants in its leaves compared to the "Camarosa" when treated increasing doses of NaCl. NaCl applications decreased the dry matter in both strawberry varieties, with more dry matter in "Sweet Charlie" compared to the "Camarosa". With increasing doses of NaCl applications, shoot Na concentrations of both strawberry increased significantly. In 'Sweet Charlie,' shoot Na concentration the increased from 446 mg.kg-1 in control treatment 1.759 mg.kg-1 in 2000 ppm NaCl treatment, and from 427 mg.kg-1 to 1.165 mg-kg-1 in Camarosa. The resultrs showed that 'Sweet Charlie' made more Na intake from the growing medium compared to the 'Camarosa' variety and that increasing doses of NaCl did not cause a significant change in the growth performance and the leaves total phenol and antioxidant content of both strawberry cultivars.
