Abstract (EN)

In this study, the developmental status of different tomato varieties was investigated by cultivating them in MS nutrient medium containing different doses of PEG (0, 1, 2, 4, 6%) under in vitro conditions. The research was carried out in Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory of Sivas Science and Technology University, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technology. Germination rate (%), stem wet and dry weight (g), root wet and dry weight (g), stem and root length (cm) were determined. In addition, antioxidant capacity and total phenol content were determined by DPPH method in the stem parts of tomato plants. In the research, the highest germination percentage in terms of environment average was determined in A1 (70.00%) environment. The maximum stem length was determined in A1 (6.19 cm) and A2 (5.60 cm) environments and root length was determined in A1 (6.38 cm) environment. As a result of the study, it was observed that the growth of the plants slowed down with the increase in PEG concentrations.
