Study of some metal(II) 2,2'-dipyridyl complexes by using the infrared spectroscopy

In this study MX2L2 general formula of [M=Cd, Co, Ni, Cu ; X=CI, Br ; L=2?2 dipyridiyl ] metal halojen compounds have been prepared for the first time. The infrared spectra of all these compounds have been recorded between 4000-400 cm-1 region. The resuIts of the C, H, N analyses of the complexes are also given. The vibrational frequencies of the free ligand molecule were compared with those complexes. The frequency shifts between free ligand and coordinated ligand were investigated.
