Abstract (EN)

Keywords: Biotransformation, chalcone, α-lipoic acid, microorganism The chalcones, which are natural or synthetic compounds belonging to the flavonoid family, have a wide spectrum of biological activity. Due to its antibacterial, anticancer and antiviral properties, studies on chalcones have increased in recent years. Synthesis of the synthetic derivative of α-lipoic acid, an antioxidant compound known to have many biological activities, and obtaining its natural derivatives by microbial biotransformation have gained importance in recent years. In this study, (E)-3-phenyl-1-(p-tolyl)prop-2-en-1-one and (E)-3-(furan-2-yl)-1-(p-tolyl)prop -2-en-1-one compounds with the mold Ulacladium chartarum MRC 72584, α-lipoic acid with Cladosporium sphaerospermum MRC 70266, Cladosporium cladosporioides MRC 70282 and Ulocladium chartarum MRC 72584 molds were biotransformed. After the biotransformation experiments, the 1H NMR spectra of the starting material and the obtained compounds were taken and the biotransformation results were examined. As a result of the biotransformation of chalcone derivatives, hydrogenation of chalcones with different yields was determined. Biotransformation of α-Lipoic acid with the mold Cladosporium cladosporioides did not yield any metabolites, while very few unidentified metabolites were obtained with the molds Cladosporium cladosporioides and Ulocladium chartarum.
