Abstract (EN)

In this study was carried out, 2 eggplant varieties cultivated in Çanakkale (Türkiye) (Solanum melongena L. cv. Kemer and Solanum melongena L. cv. Pala - 49). In this investigation were determined the changes in antioxidant enzyme activities (SOD, POX, APX, GR, and CAT), lipid peroxidation levels and the amount of pigment on root and leaf tissues of eggplant varieties which have putative resistant mechanisms against broomrapeAs a result, cv. Pala-49 was established effective defense system based on antioxidant enzyme system than cv. Kemer, especially in root tissues. When compared to leaf tissues of these cultivars, cv. Pala-49 showed good protection via ascorbate?glutathion cycle against lipid peroxidation in contast with better protection in cv Kemer. In consideration of these data, cv. Pala-49 was prominently differentiated from cv. Kemer based on the antioxidative enzymes and was more resistant against broomrape (P. ramosa (L.) Pomel) problem compared to cv. Kemer.
