Abstract (EN)

The research was conducted in the 2023 growing season to determine the yield characteristics of some sorghum genotypes that can be grown in Eskişehir ecological conditions. In the research, 10 types and 12 lines with different usage properties, obtained from various institutions and organizations, were used as materials.. The research was established according to a randomized block trial design with three replications. In the research, data regarding the number of days to 50% flowering, plant height, number of tillers per plant, plant diameter, green stem ratio, green leaf ratio, dry matter ratio, and green grass yield were taken. All features examined in the study were found to be statistically significant. As a result of the research, the number of days for 50% flowering is 72.00–87.67 days, the number of tillers per plant is 1.33–4 units/plant, the plant height is 122.67–315.00 cm, the main stem thickness is 7.93–18.23 mm, the green stalk ratio is 77,11–89,63%, the green leaf ratio is 10,94–22,89%, the dry matter ratio is 15,36–30,85%, and the green grass yield is 2152.02–5614.07 kg/da. It varied within the range. According to these results, it is recommended to cultivate Erdurmuş and Greengo varieties in Eskişehir and similar ecological conditions in terms of high green grass yield. Among the lines used, line number 12 stands out in terms of green grass yield. Single-year results are not sufficient in agricultural production and more studies need to be done.
