Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, we synthesized to 5-(2-thienyl)-N-phenyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole (1), 5-(2-thienyl)-N-[3'-chlorophenyl]-1,3,4-thiadiazole (2), 5-(2-thienyl)-N-[4'-chlorophenyl]-1,3,4-thiadiazole (3), 5-(2-thienyl)-N-[2'-fluorophenyl]-1,3,4-thiadiazole (4), 5-(2-thienyl)-N-[4'-fluorophenyl]-1,3,4-thiadiazole(5), 5-(2-thienyl)-N-[4'-nitrophenyl]-1,3,4-thiadiazole (6), 5-(2-thienyl)-N-benzyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole (7), 5-(2-thienyl)-N-[2'-methoxyhenyl]-1,3,4-thiadiazole (8), 5-(2-thienyl)-N-[3'-methoxyhenyl]-1,3,4-thiadiazole (9), 5-(2-thienyl)-N-[4'-ethoxyhenyl]-1,3,4-thiadiazole (10) compounds by the reaction of 2-Thiophenecarboxylic acid and N-phenyl thiosemicarbazide in the presence of phosphorous oxychloride. The compounds 1-10 characterized with elemental analysis, FT-IR, 1H-NMR and13C-NMR techniques. The compounds were investigated for their antimicrobial activities with disk diffusion method. Some of compounds were found to have moderate activities against test microorganisms.
