Abstract (EN)
Evaluation of Musculoskeletal System Problems, Job Satisfaction and Workability among Physical Education Teachers To evaluate musculoskeletal problems, job satisfaction and employability of physical education teachers. 176 physical education teachers working in private and public schools in Isparta province participated in the study. Cornell Musculoskeletal Disorder Questionnaire was used to assess musculoskeletal problems, Workability Index was used to assess employability, Quality of Life Short Form-12 was used to assess quality of life, and Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale was used to assess job satisfaction. Among physical education teachers, the most common reported symptoms were back pain in 42.61%, back pain in 31.79%, neck pain in 31.25%, right knee pain in 22.73%, and left knee pain in 18.19%. A significant relationship was found between the Workability Index and the presence of disease (p=0,028). There was a significant relationship between the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale General Score and regular medication use (p= 0,0000) and disease presence (p= 0,0000) data. There was a significant relationship between the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale Intrinsic Score and regular medication use (p= 0,0000). A significant relationship was found between the value of 3 of the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale Extrinsic Score and the presence of disease (p=0.0000) and regular medication use (p=0.0000). A significant relationship was found between the value of 0-2.99 of the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale Extrinsic Score and regular medication use (p=0.0455). A significant relationship was found between the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale Extrinsic Score and gender (p=0.005). A significant relationship was found between the back (p=0,049), waist (p=0,002) data and right wrist(p=0,0000), left lower leg (p=0,0000) and left foot (p=0,0441) components of the Cornell Musculoskeletal Disorders Questionnaire and the 46-50 score of the Workability Index (p<0.05). A significant relationship was found between the Workability Index value of 36-40 (p=0.021) and 41-45 (p=0.037) and age. A significant relationship was found between the Workability Index value of 41-45 and the length of time they have been teaching (p=0.023). The most common musculoskeletal problems seen in physical education teachers are waist, back, neck, right and left knee pain. Job satisfaction was found to be high and workability levels were good. Ergonomic arrangements and exercises can be given to prevent waist, back and neck pains seen in physical education teachers.
