Comparing the leadership and creativity characters of the students studying in the schools of physical education and sports(Sample of Gazi University)

The aim of this study is to make a comparison between the leadership and creativity characters of the students studying in the Schools of Physical Education and Sports.Within this general purpose, the factors that are thought to affect the leadership and creativity character of the students studying in the Schools of Physical Education and Sports such as sex, Department, grade, mother?s education level, father?s education level have been handled.The sampling group of this study consists of 606 students constituted of 328 male and 278 female students studying in the Sport management, Physical Education and Sports Teaching and Caoch Training Departments in School of Physical Education and Spots of Gazi University.The Leadership measurement that was used in this study was the measurement developed by Lee G. Bolman and Terence E. Deal (1991) and adapted to Turkish by Dereli (2002). As the for Creativity measurement, `?Adaption-Innovatiıon Inventory ( KAI), which was developed by Krikton was applied for measuring the creativity character of students. Moreover, the individual information form was completed by the researcher.The data analysis was made by means of SPSS (Statistical Package For Social Scientists for Windows Release 10.0), the significance was determined to be about p<0.05 and the results were presented in tables in accordance with the purpose of the study.Considering the Leadership and Creativity characters of the students studying in the School of physical education and sports, although there is a significant difference (p<0.05), in the sex and department variables of the leadership measurement, there is not a significant difference between the grade, father?s education level and mother?s education level variables (p<0.05).Considering the creativity characters, although there is a significant difference in the variable of the father?s education level (p<0.05), there is not a significant difference for the sex, grade, department and mother?s education level variables.It is seen that there is a relation (P<0,05) between the creativity level with the structural frame, human relations frame, political frame and symbolic frame which are the sub-dimensions of the creativity. Examining t test for the significance of the regression coefficients, it has was seen that the structural frame, human resource frame and symbolic frame sub-dimensions have a significant effect on the creativity of the students while the political frame had no effect on explaining the points of the creativity.Key Words: Leadership, Creativity, School of physical Education and Spots, Student.
