Religious education in Belgium: Islamic religion course (Valon-Brussels example)

In this study, Islamic religion courses in Belgium were examined in the context of Wallonia-Brussels. The aim of the research is to reveal the reflections of the legal changes made in recent years on the Islamic religion course given in the official schools of the Belgian Walloon-Brussels Federation and the change experienced in this process. In addition, this study makes contribution to other researches, especially in the field of comparative religious teaching, by researching the historical background of this course, its legal dimension, the achievements of the course and the quality of the teacher and passing on the information obtained. In this context, literature review and document review techniques were used as a method. The subject, purpose - importance, limitations and method of the research are discussed. General information about basic, secondary and higher education institutions under the Foof of Belgium and Belgium Walloon-Brussels education system is given. The history, legal dimension, achievements and teacher quality of the Islamic religion course are revealed. The study is completed with the conclusion part.
