Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to investigate the mediating role of growth fear and impulsivity in the relationship between the personality traits of individuals in emerging adulthood and subjective well-being. The study group consisted of a total of 580 participants, 300 women and 280 men, aged between 18 and 29. In addition to the Demographic Information Form, the Five Factor Personality Scale, the Fear of Growth Scale, the Barratt Impulsivity Scale and the Subjective Well-Being Scale were used to collect the data. The analysis of the data was carried out with the SPSS 25 program. In the descriptive analysis of data, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, percentage and frequency values were used. The normality of the data was measured by skewness and kurtosis values. Parametric tests were applied considering the normal distribution of the data. Correlation and multiple regression analysis were used to determine the relationships between the variables. For differences between groups, ANOVA and Independent Sample t-Test were applied. The homogeneity of the variances was checked and tests suitable for homogeneity were used. The PROCESS SPSS Macro program was used in the analysis of the mediation effect. When the results obtained from the study were evaluated, it was found that fear of growth and impulsivity had a partial mediating role in the effect of flexibility, which is a high-level personality trait, on subjective well-being. It has been found that stasis, another high-level personality trait, has a partial mediator role in the effect of growth fear on subjective well-being. However, it was observed that impulsivity completely mediated the effect of stagnation on subjective well-being. Key Words: higher-order personality, stability, plasticity, growth fear, subjective well-being, impulsivity
