Abstract (EN)

In this dissertation, a composition called "An ordinary day of my life" written by Berkant Gençkal, one of the contemporary Turkish composers for electro acoustical music, has been structurally examined with the help of visuals. In the first part of the dissertation which consists of two main parts, the works for solo piano, two piano, four hand piano, chamber music, orchestra and electronic music are handled and explained musically and formal. Together with that, the writing technique of the composer, identity and influenced currents are given. In the second part of the dissertation, the structural analysis of the work called 'An ordinary day of my life' was made with the help of visuals. In addition, the dissertation has contributed to contemporary Turkish music and piano learning in relation to postmodernism.At the end of the work trying to solve the piano and tape synchronization problems that the interpreter might encounter, piano and piano-free sound files were added. The contents of his works are explained using the expressions of the composer and various sources. One of the main aims of this research is to reveal the contributions of Berkant Gençkal, a contemporary Turkish composer, to the repertoire of piano and the musical achievements of his works with concrete examples and analysis. In this study, it is aimed to learn composing more deeply and to shed light with the feature of being a first-rate reference provided by the composer's own narration.
