IMPROVING SHEAR CAPACITY OF RC BEAMS USING ANGULARCFRP STRIPS(M. Sc. Thesis)Mesut KELEŞGAZI UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYDecember 2005ABSTRACTMany methods are improved for strengthening shear capacity of RC beams.One method of the strengthening shear capacity is using angled carbon fibrereinforced polymers (CFRP) strip. This work aims; improving shear capacity ofthe RC beams with shear deficience under cyclic load. The experimentalprogram consisted of six T-section beams. The parameters investigated in thisstudy included CFRP strip arrangement in shear span and CFRP strip width.The experimental results show that CFRP strips can increase the strength andstiffnes of beams significantly.
