Abstract (EN)

In this study, structural irregularities are observed which cause to capacity exhaust and collapse of multistory systems under lateral earthquake loads when design of this systems. For this purpose, it is studied on torsional irregularity, floor discontinuities, projections in plan, adjacent story strength irregularity (weak story), adjacent story stiffness irregularity (soft story), which determine in 2007 Turkish Earthquake Code in multistory systems under lateral earthquake loads. It is intended to determine the performance levels of structural systems under earthquake effects by using the Capacity Spectrum Method which is used to determine performance levels of structures by considering structural capacity obtained from pushover analyses. Eight-story reinforced concrete 3D wall-frame system is designed in ETABS Structural Analysis Program and the performance levels are determine by using the Capacity Spectrum Method which is in ATC 40. Eight-story reinforced concrete 3D wall-frame system is designed again with adjacent story stiffness irregularity (weak story). It is determined difference of the performance levels of two eight-story reinforced concrete systems. Keywords: Structural irregularities, pushover analysis, Capacity Spectrum Method, performance point, performance level.
