Abstract (EN)

In this study, deflections and curvature of reinforced concrete bemas are calculated in the view of accepting concrete with nonzero tensile strength. The tensile strength of concrete is very small in proportion to compressive strength of concrete. For this reason in the calculation of deflection and curvature of reinforced concrete beams the tensile strength of the concrete is neglected. A consistent theory for the analysis of curvature and deflections of reinforced concrete beams in the cracking stage is presented. The theory assumes concrete to have a nonzero tensile carrying capacity characterized by a uniaxial stress strain diagram which characterizes progressive microcracking due to strain softening. The tensile stress strain properties are the same as those which are obtained in direct tensile tests and those which have recently been used with success modelling fracture test results for concrete.av Presented theory has great application area. This theory can be used with reinforced concrete beams under short time loading.Keywords Tensile strength, partially prestressed, moment- curvature, moment-deflection
