Abstract (EN)
The aim of this thesis study is to determine the place and significance of the Minimalism Movement in the art world by examining its origins, key features, history, development, and representatives, as well as the innovations brought by Minimalism in terms of form and color and its echoes in 21st-century painting. The scope of the study is to observe and exemplify how Minimalism has influenced different fields and its position in contemporary art practice. The importance of the study is to reach analyses regarding the existence and future of Minimalism by identifying its reflections and how it has been reinterpreted by artists in the context of the interaction between form and color. The limitations of the study are to examine the influences of the Minimalism Movement, in terms of form and color relationships, from the period movements that formed its foundation to the present day. During the process of modernism, as a reaction to the abstract expressionism and its understanding based on form and emotion, the Minimalism art movement emerged, encompassing successive art movements, which aimed to simplify artistic elements to their simplest and most basic forms, emphasizing shapes and colors. The goal of Minimalism is to achieve the most effective expression with a minimum level of elements, while maintaining a balance between abstraction and objectivity. The innovations brought by Minimalism in terms of form and color have had a significant impact on art. Although Minimalism has its roots in painting and sculpture, its adaptable simplicity and broad scope have allowed it to be utilized in various fields. Especially influential in the development of abstract art and contemporary art, Minimalism has continued to evolve in many areas, surpassing the boundaries of the art world, thanks to technological advancements. The aesthetics of Minimalism have a notable effect not only in artistic experiences but also in daily life. Therefore, Minimalism continues to expand its influence and maintain its presence in a stronger way by spreading to the masses.
