Computer aided design of gear train elements

COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN OF GEAR TRAIN ELEMENTS (M.Sc. Thesis) Kerim ÇETİNKAYA GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY June 1989 ABSTRACT In this study a gear train elements design containing cylindirical single step spur gear pairs is made by computer. In the first section of the program, prepared in GWBASIC language, the simulation of gear design is made and the result is drawn on the screen. In the second section of the program, the shaft design and the selection of ball bearing are made and the gear train assembly design is drawn on the screen at a standart scale and is taken on a paper by the printer if necessary. On the application of gear train elements of the computer aided design and the classical method design are found similar to each other. Program is prepared for a design at every power and velocity values and it is concluded that various optimum designs can be made in a short time. Ill
