Examination of Surah an-Naml in terms of scientific interpretation

The origins of Scientific Tafsir / Exegesis date back to the early periods of Islam. However, it was especially in the modern period that this exegesis became a school and widespread. There are classical and contemporary tafsirs that contain explanations based on scientific knowledge. The aim of our study is to analyze the verses in Surat al-Naml in terms of scientific exegesis. Accordingly, our thesis consists of two main chapters. In the first part, the science of tafsir, which is the ground of our study, is discussed. Thus, a wide range of exegesis from classical methods to scientific exegesis is examined. This chapter aims to provide readers with a foundation of what tafsir is and how the Qur'an is interpreted through different approaches. In the second chapter, the subject of i'jazz in the Qur'an is explained. İn the third chapter the verses of Surat al-Naml that are subject to scientific exegesis are analyzed in detail. These verses include various miracles and events and have features that can be associated with modern science. The miracles of the scepter and the white hand given to Moses, Solomon's understanding of the language of birds and other creatures and his communication with them, the jinn's obedience to Solomon, and the jinn's obedience to Solomon. Solomon and working under his orders, the duties of the bird Hüdhüd in carrying news and gathering intelligence, bringing the throne of Belkis from thousands of kilometers away in a very short time, the waters of the two seas not mixing, the winds carrying plant seeds and pollen, and the movement of the mountains, and how these verses relate to modern science.
