Abstract (EN)

The necessity that arise as a result of rapidly improved technology in the World bring with several environmental impacts. It is necessary to determine the sources that cause environmental impacts in order to be able to take necessary measures against to these impacts with in a system. The reduction of these environmental impacts can be only achieved if assessments are made by correctly. One of the optimized techniquesthat evaluate these impacts is life cycle assessment method which involves all life cycle steps of products or processes. In this study, it was evaluated the environmental impacts of a vehicle seat by using SimaPro software with regard to Ecoinvent database. The highest contribution of the global warming is coming from steel alloy. It was revealed that using composite material decreases this impact around 55 % instead of using steel alloy. The oven temperature reduction without any quality defect provides 633,6 kg CO2 equal reduction per functional unit. It was observed that the welding process with highest energy input causes highest environmental impacts. For the other processes the reduction of environmental impacts was provided by alternative cleaner productions.
