Abstract (EN)

In the field of organizational studies, unlike some other concepts, there is no lack of conceptualizative efforts about organizational power. Here the problem is overconceptualization. This is the complicated scene on the international level on which the mainstream organizational theories are developed and diffused. On the other hand in Turkey, the matter of organizational power is discussed in a very restricted way. Although the political use of organizational power is a major reflection of organizational reality, it?s usually neglected or taken for granted as an absolute structure. Neither of these views gives us a yielding area for gathering the theoretical disputes and actuality together. Such an area can just be reached by acknowledging the political area inside the organizations and studying this area by a critical view. A point of view that gives a considerable base for the dispute on the political use of power in organizations views the organizations as negotiated orders; whereas the systemist view of the organizations disclaim this political area. The point of view of the organizational actors about ?what?s organizational reality?? determines their choices about the use of organizational power and the premises of these choices. Key Words: Organizational Power; Politics; Legitimation; Awareness; System; Negotiated Order
