The study of burnout on the workers of a military factory

Abstract (EN)

This research was performed as a descriptive study aimed to identify burnout levels of factory workers and affecting factors. 247 employees who work in a factory in central of Ankara had constituded the sample of this study. There was no specifically chosen sample and all of the universe was included in the sample. Study data was collected by using ?Personal Information Form? and ?Maslach Burnout Inventory?. In the assessment of study; Mann-Whitney U Test was used for dual comparisons and Benferoni corrected Kruskall-Wallis H Test was used for the comparison of three and more groups. In this study average scores of Emotional Exhaustion and Depersonalization were found to be in medium level and average score of Reduced Personal Accomplishment was found to be in low level. It was reported that the factors such as age, education level, number of children, number of children that the workers live with, persons living with, total experience in the department and factory working now (year), total experience (year), working in other departments of the factory, business self-approval, harmony of job with person?s knowledge and skills, work-related thoughts about the future, liking the job, reason to continue to work, workplace satisfaction, health and safety measures in workplace, thought about being approved, workload, job stress and it?s level, experiencing difficulty in workplace and the difficulties, financial situation, satisfaction with salary, having health problem in the family and sparing self-time status had significantly affected the burnout level in the workers joining this study. Risk areas that the workplaces locate, the status of having job accident, job accident type and result, having a health problem of worker or not do not affect on burnout.Key Words: Burnout. Worker.
