Abstract (EN)
Biomass which is renewable energy sources has a wide range of products. Wooden materials and industrial wastes, wood-based products and constructions that have completed their service life are also important biomass resources. Energy can be obtained by converting these sources into pellets or coal, like burning these resources. In this study, corn straw from corn plant residues is used for heating the city heating line of Salihli District. The remaining residues after the harvest of corn were collected and turned into bales, and biofuel was obtained from the bales in the pellet plant. An alternative heating system has been established for geothermal district heating system in Salihli district and biofuel production is planned. Biofuel production plant and district heating system were drawn in 3D and the components of the system were selected. The amount of fuel required and the amount of heat required were found, and the cost analysis for the biofuels and district heating system was performed. This thesis is an example of modeling study of a district heating system using biomass energy.
