Agenda Setting Role of The Television News As a Public Relations Media, Grad Thesis, Ankara, 2008.Today?s mass communications especially television has a very important place in human life. Television has the duty of individuals? news receiving requirement. News broadcasting with television will not determine what the society to think but it can effectively determine the subject that society will think about.One of the main jobs of the public relations is the relations with the media. People and companies knowing the importance of using media?s instruments use television to introduce themselves and to reach to target audiences that they want to effect. With including public relations actions in the television news that can set the agenda of the society, awareness and effect of companies and people will increase. In one hand, public relations people supply the news necessity of media; on the other hand they try to implement the public relations goals of the companies and the people.This work is done to show the effect of television in public relations perspective and to expose the high degree of importance of entering the target audience?s agenda for companies and for people. It is discovered that the people contributed to this research were following the television news and became conscious about the public relations actions there.As a result of this work, it is tried to confirmed firstly; means of mass media?s effectiveness on people at least at ?keeping track? level, secondly; agenda generation theory?s validity and lastly; the positive correlation between public relations actions involved in news and audience?s social agenda.Key Words1.Public Relations2.Television3.News4.Agenda Setting Role5.Keep Track
