Abstract (EN)

One of the most important factors needed since the existence of humanity is energy. Today, the importance of energy has increased with the increasing comfort area and developing technology. The world's energy needs are largely met by the use of fossil fuels. Considering the existence of fossil fuel reserves in our country, the energy needed is largely exported. Energy is transported with cables and conductors of appropriate cross-section and characteristics. During the transport of energy, large losses occur due to the cables and conductors used. Considering that today we are dependent on foreign sources for the value of energy and energy needs, it is obvious that it is essential to increase efficiency by reducing these losses caused by conductors and cables. In this study, aluminum conductors used in overhead lines were examined. The differences of All aluminum alloy conductor (AAAC) conductors compared to Aluminium conductor steel reinforced (ACSR) conventional conductors are explained with experimental applications and the comparison of two types of conductors is made. As a result of the comparison, the advantages and disadvantages of the conductors are revealed. During the production of AAAC alloyed conductors, heat treatment was applied to the alloyed wires using heat treatment furnaces in order to reach the desired mechanical and electrical values in the specifications and standards. Before and after the applied heat treatment, experiments were carried out for the wires and the effects of the heat treatment on the wires were examined. Thermodynamic analysis of the heat treatment furnace was carried out in order to examine the energy analysis of the heat treatment process, which constitutes the biggest cost difference between ACSR and AAAC conductors, since cost is one of the important preference factors in conductor selection.
