Abstract (EN)

This study deals with the Iraqi media outlets (Al-Diwan TV, Al-Fallujah Channel, Al-Muallemah Channel, Dijlah Channel, Al-Samaria Channel, Al-Sharqiya Channel, MBC Iraq, Al-Furat News Channel, Al-Sabah Channel) and the media situation. This was done based on secondary data collected from various credible media outlets to understand the amount of coverage given to the topic. In this study, data derived from media channels operating in Iraq were analyzed according to the content and axes specified by the researcher. According to the results obtained from the media channels examined, news programs related to cyberbullying ranked first as a factor with 34,655 clicks/views. This means that awareness of cyberbullying among the Iraqi people is very high. While current and popular programs and programs related to cyberbullying ranked second with 11,567 clicks/views, programs that cover the topic on morning programs in the Iraqi media and share scientific research reports with the public came in third place. However, the lack of public live broadcasting that increases public awareness and educational capacity is notable. Based on the documents examined, the experts consulted believed that cyberbullying was caused by ignorance, lack of resources and the absence of modern criminal laws. In addition, experts suggest that there should be a speedy justice system for women's complaints against cyberbullying on social media and digital media platforms.
