Abstract (EN)

Investigation of Information Security Awareness In An Institution As information security is one of the economic and national security problems, its importance has increased tremendously. It is very important in the military and intelligence fields of the countries. The components threat information security have entered the agenda not only in national governments but also in international communities. With evolving technology, all national and international community systems have searched new ways for security. One of the most important points in ensuring system security is the detailed risk analysis. In this study, firstly the concepts that should be known about information security, cyber-attacks, security measures, information security standards, procedures and standards have been discussed in detail and the information security awareness has been tried to be minimized by reducing security vulnerabilities. In order to examine the awareness of information security, by means of statistical analysis an interview was done to personnels in Information Technology and the other units in an institution, and the answers given by the participants to the questions were analyzed to determine the awareness of information security. From this point of view, the information on the information security of the employees of the institution has been analyzed by analyzing the general questionnaire data. In this thesis, some questions about information security were answered. It is explained how much more important information security should be done and how everyone needs to be aware of it. Awareness questionnaire was applied and differences between the persons were determined.
