Abstract (EN)
The automobiles are assigned a meaning of prestige, statue and privilege except transportation function, through its own history. However, today, opinions about automobile ownership are changing especially among young generation. Big cities are getting crowded day by day and speed of mobility is becoming a primary requirement for inhabitants. In that point conventional vehicles are unwieldy because of their sizes since traffic and parking issues are stemmed from them. The microcars have great potential to meet desires. They are pledging expeditious mobility in metropolis with customizability design. Microcars are researched in the matter of design, safety and environmental issues in previous studies. A microcar's multibody dynamic simulation and handling characteristics optimization have concluded in this study. Vehicle Dynamics is interested in longitudinal dynamics, lateral dynamics and vertical dynamics with different attributes. Lateral dynamics' attributes of a microcar has been investigated in this study. Multibody Dynamics is a methodology for solving high degree of freedom systems in terms of kinematics and dynamics. A multibody dynamics of a microcar has been modeled in Adams/Car software according to previous study of author. Front suspension system modeled as MacPherson. Toe angle and camber angle change during rebound and bounce motion have been optimized in Adams/Insight software. These parameters were objected as design hardpoints then experiment has designed to solve two-level screening full factorial method. Effects of other kinematic properties have been in limit of target values. Rear suspension system has been modeled as twist beam. The mod shapes and natural frequencies of torsion beam have been analyzed in Adams/Flex software. Thus, the semi-independent suspension system has been modeled in reliable attitude. The in-wheel hub motor has been represented as weight in front wheels at design of vehicle architecture. The full vehicle assembly has front wheel driven traction. Four models have been compared according to handling attribute. These are base design and optimized design with two tire options. The tires are modeled as 175/70 R13 for Version-1 and 195/65 R15 for Version-2. The Pac2002 semi-empirical tire model is used because it includes both physical components and empirical formulas. The Version-2 tire has been included in the model in order to integrate active wheel to the microcar in future researches. The assessing maneuver simulations are applied to the models to assess the vehicle dynamics attributes. The microcar models have safety considerations according to maneuver simulations. As a result of this study, handling characteristics are developed by multibody dynamic simulation and optimization of a microcar. A microcar multibody dynamics model platform has been generated for future researches.
