Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine the reasons that motivate the participation of individuals to trekking. 164 men and 138 women, total of 302 trekking who participate to the trekking within voluntary sports associations in the Province of Ankara have voluntarily participated to this study. The 46 articles of DYKMÖ which include the reasons to motivate the individuals to participate to trekking are comprised of 5 sub-dimensions such as (1) social, (2) health, (3) education, (4) time and (5) observation. The participants have been requested to evaluate the importance degree of the reasons considered as it may be effective to their participation to the trekking on the five point likert scale in the way ?strongly agree? (1) and ?strongly disagree? (5).In order to test the validity of DYKMÖ, the Principle Component factor analysis has been made. Cronbach?s Alpha coefficient internal consistency that has been calculated to test the reliability of the scale is between 70 ?observation? and 87 ?education?. According to the results of t-test analysis that has been made to test the difference according to the genders and marital statuses of the individuals who participated to the trekking in the 5 sub-dimensions of the questionnaire used in the research, it has been determined that there is no significant difference.According to ANOVA results, it has been determined that there is a significant difference in the variants such as age, economic conditions, leisure time and the frequency of participation to trekking. Again according to ANOVA results, it has been determined that there is no significant difference in the variant of the individual?s background. As a consequence, it can be said that the sub-dimensions such as social, education, time and observation that are considered to motivate the participation of individuals to trekking are taken part as the factors that are motivate the participation of individuals to nature walks.
