Abstract (EN)

Aim: In this study, it was planned to investigate the fertility rates, fertility preservation methods, cryopreservation needs, use of additional methods (in vitro fertilization etc.) in patients with Hodgkin and Non-Hodgkin lymphoma aged 15-45 years, who were in reproductive age at the time of diagnosis, and who received first-line treatment regimen achieving remission. Materials and Methods: Patients diagnosed between 2005-2023 in the department of hematology, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul University were inclueded. Clinical data were obtained from patient files and electronic archive system. A questionnaire was conducted on the fertility status of the determined patients. Results: Of the 263 patients (males, n=142; females, n=121), 74 had children after chemotherapy, 10 of whom had IVF and 64 of whom had spontaneous births. 7 patients were not able to have children despite trying additional methods. Accordingly, a total of 17 patients became infertile because of chemotherapy gonadotoxicity. Of these 17 patients, 6 had HL and 11 had NHL. A total of 33 patients entered menopause following chemotherapy. The main majority of patients having menopausal was comprised of NHL patients (28). There were 10 patients (13.5%) who had children with cryopreservation. Conclusion: While there wasn't any increase in infertility and menopause rates following ABVD in HL patients in remission; Infertility and menopause rates had been increased in NHL patients following R-CHOP. It has been observed that a large proportion of those who have been cryopreserved do not use this material.
