The effect of strategic alliances and mergers and acquisitions on the globalization efforts of companies (a search in the banking sector)

The countries have started to believe in the necessity of coporation inorder to sustain as well as to increase to level of economic and social welfare.Additionally, the current globalization trends have contributed to the increaseand liberalization of commodity, service and technology exchange betweencountries.Financial mergers ang groupings have accelarated all around the worldand countries have launched regional and cross-border unions in parallel withtheir common interests. NAFTA, EFTA, BSEC may be given as examples forregional cooperation that aims to ensure the improvement of economic andcommercial relations. EU countries, which have established the union withinthe framework of common economic and social policies as well as commonfinancial policies are at the most advanced level of economic union.Considering the existence of such an alliance between countries and withthe increasing efforts of integration in global markets in the last twenty years.The companies are now faced with the question of ?being global or not? and aresearching new ways of development. Strategic Alliances andmergers&acquisitions have become prioritized subjects both for getting in thesame track with globalization and for maintaining the existance while growingin the market of global competition. Strategic alliances andmergers&acquisitions are not only highly effective in the globalization efforts ofcompanies but are also methods that support the companies in reaching theirobjectives in a shorter period.The first chapter of this research., titled as ?The Effect of StrategicAlliances and Mergers&Acquisitions on The Globalization Efforts ofCompanies and A Search in The Banking Sector? includes the basic strategiesapplied by the companies when faced with globalization and globalizationtrends.
