Abstract (EN)

In this study, hearthwood and sapwood specimens of the Scots pine which is naturally grown in Turkey were treated with some natural (valex) and chemical preservatives such as CCA(Copper/ Chrome/Arsenic), CBA (Copper/Boron/Azole). The wood protective activity of this chemicals were investigated. Additionally the some mechanical test (Compression strenght parallel to grain), physical test (density), and biological test (wood decay, insect and termite tests) were performed. As a result of this study, it was found that; valex had generally negative effects on the physical, mechanical and biological properties of wood specimens. However, chemical preservatives (CCA and CBA) had positive effects on biological tests of wood specimens, and these chemicals partially caused negative effects on mechanical properties of wood specimens
