Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine the effects of zinc fertilizer applied in different periods in Eskişehir ecological conditions on yield and yield components of beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) in 2012. Experiments were conducted in Eskişehir Osmangazi University experimental area. The experimental design was split plot with three replicates. Akman - 98 dry bean varieties were used as material. Different zinc fertilizers (ZnEDTA and ZnSO4.7H2O) were applied at different application period (control, before flowering, pod setting, before flowering + pod setting). Fertilizers were placed on the main plots and application periods were placed on the sub plots. According to the results of the variance analysis; plant height 49.00 - 55.06 cm, first pod height 15.40 - 19.06 cm, number of main branches per plant 3.53 - 4.33, number of pods per plant 20.66 - 27.40, number of seeds per plant 65.93 - 81.13, number of seeds per pod 2.67 - 3.29, seed yield per plant 13.86 - 17.79 g/plant, hundred seed weight 22.19 - 24.26 g and grain yield 101.40 - 152.13 kg/da. As a result, ZnEDTA zinc fertilizer application in the pod setting period showed the best results in terms of yield and yield components. Although this application is recommended, its inclusion in the plant nutrition program in bean cultivation will have positive results.
