Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was investigated that the effects of region difference and plant spacing on some technological properties of plywood panels manufactured from alder logs. In the manufacture of plywood, it was used alder logs taken from five different plantation spacings (1m x 1m, 2m x 2m, 3m x 3m, 4m x 4m and 5m x 5m) of Giresun (Erimez) and Maçka (Yeniköy) regions. Some mechanical properties such as shear strength, bending strength, modulus of elasticity of the plywood panels were conducted according to TS EN 314-1, TS EN 310, respectively. Physical properties such as equilibrium moisture content and specific gravity were determined according to TS EN 322 and TS EN 323, respectively. As a result of the study, it was determined that the specific gravity values of plywood panels increased with decreasing plantation spacings. Therefore, the mechanical strength values of panels increased. Moreover, the mechanical strength values of panels manufactured from alder logs taken from Maçka (Yeniköy) region were found higher than Giresun (Erimez) region.
