Abstract (EN)
Reference ranges of lymphocyte subgroups of healthy adults were established atprevious years and useful informations gained for our region. In this study we aimed todetermine reference ranges of lymphocyte subgroups of healthy children from ourregion.Study had been performed between September 2010 and December 2010. In thisstudy 100 healthy children were included which of 48 were girls and 52 were boys agedbetween 0-18. Children were divided 4 age groups which are 0-4 years, 5-9 years, 10-14years, 15-18 years. Complete blood count analysis and the reference ranges of CD3,CD4, CD8, CD19, CD56 and the CD4/CD8 ratios were determined using a flowcytometry instrument at the Central Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine, Universityof Çukurova. Statistical analysis of all data were performed by Statistical Package forthe Social Sciences (SPSS, version 18.0) program.Total leucocyte number and lymphocyte percentages of 100 healthy childrenwere determided as 7,943±2,232 and 37,5±11,7 respectively with statistic analyses.Lymphocytes subgroups percentages for CD3, CD4, CD8, CD19, CD56, and CD4/CD8were 96,4±4,9, 40,5±4,9, 27,8±4,7, 14,6±4,3, 10,3±3,2 and 1,51±0,36 respectively. We determined reference ranges of CD3, CD4, CD8, CD19, CD16+56 (naturalkiller cells) lymphocyte subgroups and rate of CD4/CD8 at the end of the study. Normalreference range data obtained is expected to give useful information at treatment andprosecution of patients from immunity related diseases, especially at patients fromchildren haematology clinics; so pathological data will give information about healthstatus of children.Key Words: CD4, CD8, Flow cytometry, Healthy Children, Lymphocyte Subsets.
