Abstract (EN)

Turkey is the first country in terms of boron reservs possesion. The boron is usedmainly in glass industry, however,recently the usage of boron in ceramic industryis also increasing.In this study, the effect of boric acid and borakspentahidrate to the slip rheologyand sintering behavior in tableware products were investigated. Fort his purpose, boric acid and borakspentahidrat were added at different rates( %0,3 and 0,9 ) toa Standard recipe. Studies in the literature on boron mentions that boroncompounds have negative effects to the slip rheology. In this study, the mudrheology is examined and optimum amount of electrolyte was determined byconventional methods.As a result of experiments with boron compounds, theirsolubility in water and the ion types and quantitie?s negative effects to therheology are observed. The sintering behavior of boron prescriptions is examinedby optical dilatometer. It is observed that; the sintering process starts earlier in thebodies that contain boron.Keywords: Ceramics, boron, tableware, rheology, sintering
