Abstract (EN)
Boron carbide(chemical formula approxiametly B4C),it is the one of the hardest materials known, behind cubic boron nitride and diamond, having regard to high melting temperature(2743 °C), Vickers hardness (32G Pa), theoretical minimum density (2,52 10³ kg/m³) and electrical conductivity parameter (( ?1000 10? ?.m),for these reasons it is used for the meterial having high temperature. Due to its chemical and physical stabilty at high temperature and other following properities, B4C, cementitious ceramics, is used for space, defense industry, automotive, technological structure and other functional applications. 6XXX series of experimental studies of waste aluminum chips are used as the matrix element. Matrix (Al sawdust) as a reinforcing element in the 3 µm, 53 µm, 75-150 µm, 150-250 µm and ? 500 µm over 5 different boron carbide powders with grain sizes are used. Exhaust al 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% (by weight) made of the addition of boron carbide, on this work we used hot pressing device in order to create a sample in dimension of 10mm x 24 mm x 5mm by using hot pressing method. Burak Aluminium plant used aluminum chips, boron carbide powders were obtained from the BMBT and Tübitak.
