Abstract (EN)

Boron carbide powder has been produced by using carbotherraal method. Variety of carbon sources and boric acid have been used for this method. The carbon sources used are PVA, CMC, Carbores, Ammonium lignosulphonate, Bakalite. Each carbon source has been mixed with boric acid. Drying and calcination have been done consequtively. Every calcined sample has been sintered at 1550 °C under flovving argon atmosphere. Boric acid - C mixtures have been prepared by using the same carbon sources. Drying and calcination have been done. Each sample has been sintered at 1300 °C under flovving argon atmosphere. XRD (X - Ray difraction), SEM (scaning electron microscopy) and EDS (energy dispersive spectroscopy) analyses have been conducted on the products after sintering.
