Abstract (EN)
Openings due to architectural or any other reason in R/C shear walls are a common phenomenon. Besides having a good rigidity and strength performance, they are known to behave more ductile than shear wall without openings.In this study, effects of openings on shear walls and structural behavior of shear walls with openings are considered. In line with this purpose, the calculation method elastic analysis of shear walls with openings are presented. Effective rigidity and stress variations of shear wall with openings on selected points are observed by means of a computer program SAP2000. The investigations have been conducted on the shear walls with similar characteristics, but having different opening ratios and different number of the stories. The results obtained have been illustrated by means of tables and diagrams.
