Abstract (EN)

The present thesis focuses on two hoards of Roman coins, namely the "Roman Silver Coin Hoard" and the "Late Roman Coin Hoard," which are currently housed in the Burdur Museum. The first one, the Roman Silver Coin Hoard, was included in the coin inventory of the Burdur Museum through confiscation in 1995. Consisting of 347 coins, the earliest coin was minted in the name of Septimius Severus (193-211) and the latest in the name of Herennius Etruscus (251). The hoard contains 21 coins struck in the name of emperor/empress and caesars. These coins are in denarius and antoniniani units and represented by 3 mints. The second hoard, the Late Roman Coin Hoard, was brought to the museum in 1998 with a bronze oinokhoe and purchased by the museum. Consisting of 173 coins, the earliest coin was minted in the name of Valerianus I (253-260) and the latest in the name of Honorius (393-423). The hoard contains 21 coins struck in the name of emperors and caesars. These coins are in the antoninani, follis and Æ denominations and are represented by 14 mints.
