Abstract (EN)

The limited energy resources in the world with high production costs lead countries to depend on foreign sources with expensive energy prices. On the other hand, the environmental damage due to traditional energy production methods has increased day by day. The use of conventional fuels increases greenhouse gas emissions and can lead to, important problems that can affect the whole world, such as global warming, green gas release, etc. The development of technology and the increase in population also increase the need for energy sources. The importance of energy storage systems, which is one of the solutions to these problems, has increased these days. In this study, general information about energy storage systems and batteries is explained and information about battery technologies for large-scale stationary energy storage systems is investigated. In addition, the general characteristics of large-scale energy systems and their operating principle are explained.
