Ill THE VİOLA WORKS OF CONTEMPORARY TURKİSH COMPOSERS AND THE EVALUATION AİMED AT THE USES BY THE VİOLA İNSTRUCTORS İN THOSE İNSTİTUTİONS GIVING PROFESSIONAL MUSIC EDUCATİON OF THOSE WORKS ( Ph. D Thesis ) A. Serkan ECE İNSTİTUTE OF SCİENCE OF GAZİ UNİVERSİTY April 2002 ABSTRACT This research has been done to find out whether the viola works of Contemporary Turkish Composers have been respected by the viola instructors in the intitutions giving professional music education, whether they have been used with the aim of education - if so, in what way and in which class level they have been used - if not so, so as to improve solution proposals to ite reasons having worked out them. İn this research, the whole universe has been included within analogy. İn this sense, an interview has been done with 44 viola instructors working in the intitutions giving professional music education aimed at the case determination, up to the 28 viola works of out of the 37 ones having been featured at research limitation and an expert's point out view has been applied so as to determine the class level of those works. After the data has been gathered, their frequency and percentage have been taken and presented with graphich and tables. " Hypothesis TestIV For The Difference Of The Two Groups " has been applied to be able to test the known rate of the works having been written for the viola by the Contemporary Turkish Composers being stated at the 4th and 11th sub.problems of the researc and the reasons of not being used with the aim of the viola education of the works having been determined before and whether there has been any difference according to the institutions where the instructors have been working. İn the result of the analysis of the data the viola works of the Contemporary Turkish Composers still haven't been known as it is expected by the viola instructors in the intitutions of Professional Music Education, and they heve also not been used commonly and in an active way, and also it has been determined that tecnical difficulties has been met with in those works. The solution proposals have been improved aimed at getting rid of those problems.
