Relationship between quality of life with quality of working life: The case of Eskisehir

Since the 1980s, globalization and rapid technological developments have led to a process in which organizations are entering not only national but also international competition. This period comes to the forefront as a period in which people are worried about ensuring the continuity of the organizations and organizations start to give importance to the human factor in order to make a difference to other organizations. Organizations need to ensure product and service quality for the continuity and competitiveness. For maintaining the quality of product and services, organizations should ensure quality of worklife for workers. This situation lead to emergence of the concept of quality of working life. Human resources management, which has developed in line with the concept of quality of working life, aims to carry motivation, productivity and performance increases of employees in order to ensure continuity by profit. In order to improve the quality of the working life, the quality of life which expresses the level of satisfaction of workers nonworking life has unignorable importance. For this reason it is considered necessary to analyze the relationship between the quality of working life and quality of life. In this study, primarily the change and development of the working life in the historical process was examined. Later, the relationship between the quality of working life and quality of life was investigated. This study was carried out on the banking sector in Eskişehir through survey. The collected data were subjected to data analysis through quantitative research methods. As a result of this study, there is low level relation between quality of life and the quality of working life.
