Abstract (EN)

Cement production's environmental impact has boosted the demand for alternative binding materials. Research has revealed that glass can positively influence concrete's fresh properties and mechanical strength. This study investigates the detailed effects of Glass Powder (GP) as a mineral additive on concrete's physical and mechanical properties. Experiments on fiber-reinforced concrete samples were conducted, measuring compressive strength, tensile strength, water absorption, porosity, abrasion resistance, capillary water absorption, electrical resistivity, and ultrasonic transmission velocity at various curing times. Additionally, samples completed a 28-day curing period and were exposed to sulfuric acid (SA) solution to assess changes in their properties. The concrete mix included CEM I 42.5 R Portland cement, GP in weight percentages of 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30%, crushed sand (0-4 mm), and crushed stone aggregates (4-16 mm), with 1 kg/m3 of Glass Fiber (GF) and Basalt Fiber (BF). The water/cement ratio remained at 0.45, with an additional 1.2% by weight of a superplasticizer added. Results show that adding 10% GP enhances concrete's mechanical and physical properties under both acid and normal curing conditions. This underscores the importance of eco-friendly alternatives in the cement industry and highlights the positive effects of glass powder and fibers on concrete durability.
