Abstract (EN)

Procedural modeling techniques are widely used in modeling architectural structures as well as natural structures. Procedural modeling continues to be the focus of interest in producing virtual environments with the potential to produce a variety of detailed content along with other advantages it provides. Procedural modeling, which is frequently used in the modeling of building facades, reduces the cost considerably. In this study, we used procedural modeling techniques in the 3D modeling of mosques with quite a lot of detail. The purpose of choosing the mosque as modeling is the fact that it has detailed structures that do not exist in the building structure as well as cultural values. In our study, an approach is presented to the user by automatically modeling 3-dimensional mosques with the specific parameters taken from the user. The presented method determines the hierarchical parameters of the elements of the mosque according to the high-level parameters taken by the user and performs the modeling. Hierarchically designed parameters, while creating the semantics of the model, on the other hand, a system that the user can use without requiring technical knowledge is presented. The user can also intervene the final design by modifying the low-level parameters in case of necessity. In this work, we present a system for modeling mosques with only little user intervention and we aim to extend the system to allow for modeling other cultural elements.
