Abstract (EN)

Developing Guide Material Based Multiple Intelligences Theory for the Unit "The Interaction with Living Things and Nature" and it's Effectiveness on Teaching Process In the developing curriculums have not contained teaching-learning activities, tool- equipments, experiments, references, sufficiently. For this reason, teachers need off extra instructional materials. In addition, curriculums have ignored students whose individual diversity. MI theory provides an effective and successfully way of teaching to students. In a system where the eight intelligences are used to explain the material, teachers are allowing the students to understand and learn by using their own personal strengths. MI theory supports the idea that intelligence can be taught and learned. Mental performance can be improved at any age and almost any ability level in the study, guide materials with the base of Multiple intelligences Theory for the unit "The interaction with living things and nature", in science 5th grade curriculum were developed, implemented and evaluated. In the study, quasi-experimental model was used. Pilot study was applied in 2001-2002 fall mid-term. The actual study was applied in 2001-2002 spring mid-term. Materials were implemented in 2001- 2002 academic year. The research was carried out on six groups: tree experimental groups and tree control groups. While the materials applied to the experimental groups, control groups continued to their traditional education. Before and after the implementation of the materials, Science Achievement Test and Science Attitude Scale were implemented to all groups as pre-test and post-test. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS/ WINDOWS program and discussed in detail. The test results were compared with t- test. The findings demonstrated that in regard to the students' science achievement and science attitudes, there were significant differences among the groups in favors of experimental groups. At the end of the research, suggestions were made to teachers and researchers. Key Words: Multiple Intelligences Theory, Science Education, Living Things, Nature, Guide Material vn
