Abstract (EN)

In this research, the formal and technical analysis of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach's Cello Concerto in A Major, one of the important composers of the 18th century, was made. In the first part, there is information about Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach's life and his works. In the second part, the main trends and styles of European music in the 18th century, when the concerto was composed, were researched, and information was given about the Italian, French and German schools and cello concertos, which were important in the development of the cello as a solo instrument in this period. In the third chapter, in light of all this, the formal and technical analysis of the composer's A Major Cello Concerto has been made and its various editions have been compared and evaluated. This is the first time this topic was discussed in a thesis from Turkey. Due to the scarcity of Turkish sources on the cello works of C. P. E. Bach, it is aimed to provide a Turkish resource to the literature which aims to help musicians interested in this subject. Keywords: C. P. E Bach, Cello, Concerto, 18th century, Cello school
