Abstract (EN)

In this research the effect of the group guidance which directed to improve conflict resolution skills applied to nineth grade students of a high school on agressiveness and problem solution skills was examined. In the research pretest-posttest control group was designed and was conducted with 60 samples who were attending to nineth grade at a high school. Control group also took place in the research together with the experimental group. The conflict resolution guidance was applied in twelve sessions each of which lasted 90 minutes. The experimantel group received 18 hours ` Conflict Resolution Skills? training. The control group was not given any training. Aggressiveness Questionnaire and Problem Solving Inventory were applied both of the two groups before and after the application of the program to experimental group. Comparing pretest and posttest measures of aggressiveness and problem solving skills of two groups, the data analysis used was analysis of factorial variance (ANOVA) for repeated measures. Findings of the research showed that, there were differences at significant level (p<0.005) in the aggressiveness and problem solving skills of the experimental and control samples depending on the experiments. The important decrease that is observed in the aggressiveness points and the important increase that is observed in the problem solving skills of the students in the experimental group are resulted from the applied conflict resolution program. The results of the follow up is applied to test wheather the group guidance has a long duration effect on both decreasing aggressiveness and increasing problem solving skills showed that positive effect of conflict resolution education program has increasingly continued at significant level ( p<.05).
