Abstract (EN)
The load effects caused by winds have an important role in the design stages of structures in many countries. The reference of various regulations in determining the wind loads affecting the structures provides practical and economical solutions. Designing each type of structure according to the maximum wind loads results in unrealistic and economically costly results. The types of structures and the regions in which they are located constitute important criteria for calculating wind loads. Within the scope of this study, taking into account different terrain conditions, ASCE/SEI 7-16 (2016) "Minimum Design Loads and Associated Criteria for Buildings and Other Structures", EN 1991-1-4 (2005) "Eurocode 1: Actions on structures - Part 1-4: General actions - Wind actions, TS-498 (2021) "Design Loads for Buildings" regulations were examined in detail and the results obtained by analyzing for different industrial building models designed using concentric steel bracing were compared. In the two different industrial steel building models, wind loads were calculated according to these standards. The determined wind load values and wind effect regions were shown in building models and tables, and comparisons of these obtained loads were made. In the SAP2000 structural analysis program, industrial steel building models were modeled and structural analyses were performed taking into account the determined wind loads. As a result of the analyzes, the cross-sectional capacity ratios obtained by the design approach with the Load and Resistant Factor Design (LRFD) defined in the Specification for the Design, Calculation and Construction of Steel Structures (SDCCSS 2018), cross sections and results obtained from both building models were compared.
