Abstract (EN)
In this study, we have worked on simulation of potential mechanical damage in the computer environment that may occur depending on falling status of our mobile phone with finite elements method. It is highly important that simulating the drop test at the design stage for mobile phone that is produced as a result of working coordinately the mechanical, electronic and electronic communication engineers together in terms of prevent the potential mold modification and guide before mold output. Mobile phone, which has complicated structure, is an electronical communication tool nowadays used by almost everybody. This complex structure has been modelled in order to analyze mechanical deformation and fracturing of glass that may occur at the drop test simulation and this simulation has been simplified in order that be in the analysis period. In this study, whether the accuracy of finite element analysis is observed by comparing the mobile phone produced by Vestel Company with the drop test of final product which has been in progress in its own test laboratory and it was observed that the results supported each other. With the revisions on the designs, three different designs were obtained and also compared to each other. Besides, the potential phone falling scenarios without case and with case recently used very common have been compared with each other by modelling them with finite element method. The explicit finite element solution method has been used in the time-dependent drop test. Creo parametric v.3.0 is used for modelling of parts and the Ansys/LSDYNA software is used as the explicit solver for the finite element solution. The results show that the design with the largest corner radius is safer than others in terms of strength.
