Abstract (EN)
The damages and demolitions caused by the earthquakes in recent years have revealed the inadequacy of reinforced concrete structures. The strengthening of bearing systems of the damaged reinforced concrete structures instead of destruction is a more rational option when economic conditions are considered. In this study; Moment-curvature relationships of unreinforced and CFRP reinforced square concrete columns were investigated by using OpenSees finite element model. When examining moment-curvature relationships, two different values above and below the balanced axial force value of the reinforced column were examined. In addition, the parameters such as the dimensions of the reinforced concrete square columns, the CFRP thickness of the strenghtening reinforced concrete columns and the concrete compressive strength were kept variable. The obtained moment-curvature relationships were examined and compared. The effect of concrete compressive strength, CFRP thickness (from 0 mm to 3 mm), axial force level and column size on the behavior of strengthening reinforced concrete columns were determined with the help of the moment-curvature relations.
